Mrs. Pauline Puttman Stewart was born on April 29, 1928 to the late Rosevelt and Alberta Bearden Puttman in Hattiesburg, MS. Mrs. Pauline Stewart, at the blessed age of 97, passed away on December 15, 2025 peacefully surrounded by family and friends in the comfort of her own home. Mrs. Pauline, as she is so fondly known as, was the youngest of two children and was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Cassie Puttman. As a cornerstone in her family, Mrs. Pauline always put the needs of others before her own. As a loving wife, mother, sister, granny, neighbor and friend, Mrs. Pauline demonstrated her unselfish love and affection in the many acts of kindness she daily displayed. Mrs. Pauline was united in marriage to the late Mr. Robert Earl Stewart, Sr. to which this union combined a blended family of three sons of her own (James Wesley Curry (deceased), Twilley Curry (deceased), Augustine Curry (deceased) and together they shared one son, Eugene (Angela) Stewart; Mr. Robert brought to this union five daughters and one son (Vermell Jackson (deceased), Bobby Bullock, Dorothy Fluker (deceased), Dell Lang, Terrie Waters (deceased) and Robert Earl Stewart, Jr (deceased). Mrs. Pauline was a dedicated and devoted member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church from a young age. During her tenure, she served in various capacities such as a member of the senior choir, to the usher board to most recently, as member of the Mother Board. Mrs. Pauline believed in tithing (given God’s ten percent) and would often say, “You can’t beat God’s given”. Understanding the importance of education, Mrs. Pauline would continually encourage the family and friends to attend Sunday school and church and to self-improve oneself through reading. Mrs. Pauline believed in helping others and especially the elderly. As devoted caregiver to many seniors in her community, she also was the caregiver to her own mom for over six years, the late Mrs. Alberta Puttman. Mrs. Pauline exemplified humility, dignity and love not only in her words but in her actions. Mrs. Pauline is cherished and survived by her son, Eugene (Angela) Stewart, first Cousins (like sisters) Mrs. Dorothy (Roger) Pryor, of Gulfport, Ms. and Mrs. Barbara Wilson of San Francisco, CA. In addition to countless other relatives to numerous to mention, she will be deeply missed by the lives of those she touched in her grandchildren (Lisa, Curtis, Stephanie, Vanessa, Kimberly, Dexter, Adrian, Stevie, Antwan, Augustine Jr, Tyrence, Terrell, Spencer, Justin, Eugene, David, Ian, Carlton, Chris, Kimberly) and a host of Great Grandchildren.
